"Longsword of the 15th century against armor focused on precision and exploiting weak points. Half-swording was common, where the blade was gripped near the middle for control and thrusting power. Fighters targeted gaps in plate armor, such as the visor, armpits, elbows, and knees. The estoc, a thrusting sword, was effective for piercing these areas. Grappling and leveraging the sword were used to destabilize opponents and create openings for finishing strikes."
