Before the Inquisitors, before the purge, and before the galaxy turned cold, there was the hum of the Venator’s hangar. I remember the day we left the Temple. I was just a child, and the braid behind my ear felt heavier than the lightsaber at my hip.
My Master told me to focus on the moment, but all I could see were the rows of white armor and the silent promise that we might not come back. She led the dance, trying to keep the light alive, while I was just beginning to learn the pain of a galaxy at war.
This was the day the dream ended and the war began.
