This is a zinc double corner brace plate. 2-1/2" is the size, and that's a reference to the height or the depth, or width I should say. It's a square. 1-1/2" wide, and that's where the double part of the description comes in. Has 3 holes on each leg. Zinc coated steel, zinc for corrosion resistance and they're heavy. A box of 50 of these weighs about seven lbs. So they're pretty substantial. That zinc coating will make them rust-resistant. Screws are not included so keep that in mind. I'd say a number 6 screw is what I'd be looking for that.
