The Mario Cuomo Bridge (Interstates 87/287) is a dual-span cable stayed bridge across the Hudson River north of New York City along the New York State Thruway. Opened to traffic in 2017 and completed in 2020, it measures three miles long in total, with a central cable-stayed signature main span of 1,200 ft.
This bridge was built to replace the Tappan Zee Bridge, which carried traffic at this location from 1955-2017.
