President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. joins his counterparts for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders’ Retreat Session 2 at the Hwabaek International Convention Center in Gyeongju, Republic of Korea on November 1, 2025.

Leaders engage in discussions centered on the theme ‘Preparing a Future-Ready Asia-Pacific,’ where the President is expected to deliver his intervention.

Twenty-one (21) APEC Member Economies come together to discuss pathways to shared prosperity under this year’s Summit theme, ‘Building a Sustainable Tomorrow: Connect, Innovate, Prosper,’ with South Korea serving as the Host Economy.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this year’s AELM marks the first time that APEC Leaders collectively discuss and seek consensus on a joint response at the Leaders’ level. South Korea expects the 2025 AELM to produce tangible results, building on the outcomes of ministerial meetings held earlier this year in areas such as trade, human resources development, education, digital technology and artificial intelligence (AI), food security and women’s empowerment.
