The U.S. military has released footage it says shows missiles being launched from an American warship during self-defense strikes against targets in Iran.

According to U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), the overnight operation targeted Iranian military surveillance capabilities, communications systems and air defense sites. The military said the strikes concluded several hours after they began and described them as part of ongoing defensive actions.
