Meet Shannon Duerk | Family Nurse Practitioner | NGPG

Описание: Shannon Duerk, FNP, is a family medicine nurse practitioner with Northeast Georgia Physicians Group (NGPG) Family Health Associates in Bethlehem, Georgia. She delivers comprehensive primary care to patients of all ages, focusing on preventive care, wellness visits, chronic condition management and coordinated care across every phase of life.

Service has always been an important part of Shannon’s life. Raised in a military home and later married to a Navy veteran, she spent more than a decade working as a nurse in emergency departments and operating rooms. She was born in Greece while her father was stationed there in the Navy, but she grew up in Virginia Beach, Virginia. She was close with her aunt, who would tell stories about her days as a labor and delivery nurse, which inspired Shannon to pursue a career in medicine.

Shannon graduated from Defiance College in Ohio, worked as a nurse at ProMedica Defiance Regional Hospital for more than 10 years, and eventually went back to school to become a family nurse practitioner (FNP). She earned her master’s degree from Ohio University in Athens, then moved to Georgia to be closer to family and began working as an FNP.

Outside of work, Shannon enjoys traveling, attending outdoor concerts, and working in her flower garden. She also loves spending time with her children and grandchildren and serving at her church in Hamilton Mill.
