His Royal Highness Maiguizo Kane Mahaman Mansour, Niger's Tessaoua Canton traditional emir of Tessaoua, whose dynasty began in the 16th century with the Tazaraoua and continued until the Sultan of Katsina, Mijinyawa, who was exiled from Maradi and founder of the Sultanate of Tessaoua, arrived. The 7th Emir of this dynasty is Maiguizo Kane Mahaman Mansour, who ascended in 2007. He embraces cultural variety, debate, and tolerance as a Muslim. His attempts to foster peace and understanding among regional religious and ethnic groups are well known. He was invited to attend the Maroon festival in Suriname along with several royalties from various arts of Africa. this video is an interview conducted by Tinashe Mukasa with the Emir about his experience to Suriname.
The purpose of his visit was to laid grounds for a diplomatic cultural mission between Suriname and the African Royal Kingdoms. A project created by the African Views Organization for the alliance of the African Royal Kingdoms and the Royal Institute of the Global African Cultures and Traditions.
