Aval Vilayichathu also known as Aval Varattiyathu is a traditional Kerala snack usually served with evening tea or coffee. It is beaten rice flakes sweetened with Jaggery and flavoured with coconut, cardamon and fried nuts. It is also served with ripe bananas as an accompaniment.

🍲 SERVES: 6 Person (600 gm)
🧺 INGREDIENTS
Crushed Jaggery (ശർക്കര പൊടിച്ചത്) - 1½ Cup (225 gm)
Water (വെള്ളം) - ½ Cup (125 ml)
Grated Coconut (തേങ്ങ ചിരണ്ടിയത്) - 3 Cups (240 gm)
Cardamom Powder (ഏലക്ക പൊടിച്ചത്) - 1 Teaspoon
Flattened Rice (അവൽ) - 3 Cups (120 gm)
Ghee (നെയ്യ്) - 3 Tablespoons
Roasted Bengal Gram (പൊട്ടു കടല) - ¼ Cup
Cashew Nuts (കശുവണ്ടി) - ¼ Cup
Sesame Seeds (എള്ള്) - 1 Tablespoon
