The ACCA Advanced Audit and Assurance paper are basically designed to test the challenges that an Audit Manager would face in one’s professional life. The requirement to analyze, evaluate and conclude on audit and assurance issues, matters together best practices will be the crux of the exam.

In this video, I will be running briefly through some fundamental aspects of how one should prepare so as to ensure a pass (at a minimum) for this paper.

I will touch on the topics that will be coming out in every sitting and which of these topics are the big mark carriers.

I will urge a student to study, understand, and assimilate the required knowledge. These are must-know topics. I will show how you must make it your own. How you should be making your own notes, mind maps, mnemonics, pictures, etc. – anything and everything that will enable you to internalize the subject.

Practicing past year questions is a must. What you should be doing when you practice these. I will run through how questions will be asked and learning how to identify keywords or “clues” from the scenarios given. I will help students to get familiar with exam techniques and marking schemes.

12.30 Practicing writing to time is another aspect that needs to be mastered. It will be a pressure cooker in the exam hall and students will need to practice writing to time if they are to succeed.

14.20 Mock exams are essential towards achieving this as real exam conditions are duplicated for students to get a feel of performance in the real exam.
