Personality Traits to Succeed in Finance

Описание: Here are some of the traits that I believe will be most beneficial to a successful career in finance. These are not the traditional "traits" as defined by the popular personality tests. These are factors that many people have spoke about to be more successful in your career in finance. The principles are different if you are in an analytical role vs a relationship role.

The number one idea that anyone watching this video can take from it, is that the best personality characteristic someone could have to make them more successful, id kindness and respect for others. Doesn’t matter where you work. Everyone will like to work with you more and you will be far more likely to be promoted. It’s not always easy to be kind in all situations, sometimes you need to put your pride aside or ignore any negative emotions you might be having in order to remain respectful.
If you are in a strictly analytical role, yes it will help if you are more interested in crunching numbers and you can also probably afford to be less friendly. But make no mistake that if you are a jerk to everyone, you wont get far. I think finance movies depict… sure there is some of this.
The sector of finance that we call Wealth management which might be called PWM, but the general public knows as financial advising, yes you are going to need more soft skills. Because you’re talking with clients. But NOT in the way most people might think. You don’t necessarily need to be extroverted or outgoing. The good news is if Look at the myers briggs or 4 colors or any other personality test, anyone can be successful. BUT I think two of the most important factors is that you can be a chameleon, and you can listen! People like people who are like them, and people like to talk.
