The leader of Hezbollah of Lebanon, the militant group turned to political party, Hassan Nasrallah claimed that the organization was occupied with 100,000 active militiamen. If such a statistics was true it would make the group even bigger than the Lebanese Army.
As Nasrallah was delivering a speech after the death of seven Lebanese in a gun fight which took place in Beirut, he made this announcement. As there were potential disagreements about the persisting investigation of the ammonium nitrate explosion that took place in 2020 which damaged the city's port hugely, the confrontation by the leader came out.
After the end of the 15-year long civil war that took place from 1975 to 1990, various factions of Lebanon which have been in conflict for power have put accusations on each other for the blast which lead to conflicts. The speech delivered by Nasrallah and the motivation behind it seems like it was made as a threat to other factions of the country, which implicitly alerts these factions to resist from getting in conflict with Hezbollah.
