Science and Espionage: Fort Hunt and Prince William Forest During the Second World War

Описание: (7/26/2025) Fairfax County Public Library's Martha Washington Library branch hosted a program in conjunction with the National Park Service called "Science and Espionage: Fort Hunt and Prince William Forest During the Second World War" on Saturday, July 26, 2025. Authors Ann Todd and Brian Crim presented a virtual seminar moderated by U.S. national park rangers Daniel Blier and Melissa Weih about top-secret military intelligence operations headquartered in northern Virginia during World War II.

Ann Todd is the author of OSS Operation Black Mail: One Woman’s Covert War Against the Imperial Japanese Army. She has worked as a historian for the National Museum of the Marine Corps and as a consultant for the National Geographic Society. She served in the United States Coast Guard and lives in Texas.

Brian Crim is the Cohen Chair for Holocaust and Genocide Studies at Keene State College in New Hampshire. He worked as an intelligence analyst with the Department of Defense and Department of Homeland Security between 2001 and 2005. Dr Crim’s publications include Antisemitism in the German Military Community and the Jewish Response, 1914–1938, Our Germans: Project Paperclip and the National Security State, and Planet Auschwitz: Holocaust Representation in Science Fiction and Horror Film and Television.
