This is a classic Dutch-Indonesian dish: Babi Ketjap. I love the sweetness in this recipe. Pork chops simmer in a sweet soy sauce with a special ingredient: ginger.

Ingredients for 5 people:
8 tbsps of chopped onions
8 chopped cloves of garlic
4 tbsps of vinegar
5 tsps stem ginger or baby ginger
1 tbsp of syrup
10 centimeter fresh ginger root
8 tsps of ginger powder
8 tbsps of sweet soy sauce (kecap manis)
2 tsps of salt
1 kg chopped pork chops
