In this video you will see the large biotope aquarium of Lake Tanganyika, the tank is three and a half meters long and is decorated with large natural rocks that create the rocky and transitional environments of the lake. The large aquarium filtration is under the tank with a sump and several additional pumps and filters.
The aquarium is home to several and rare Lake Tanganyika cichlids, herbivorous, omnivorous and fish-eating fish. There is also a group of Synodontys granulosus catfish that are also endemic to the lake.

Lake Tanganyka (or Tanganyka) is one of the great lakes of East Africa. It is the second deepest lake on the planet after Lake Baikal, and also the second in volume, again after Lake Baikal. It is located on the border between Tanzania, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Burundi and Zambia. It is located inside one of the great pits of the Rift Valley, has a narrow and elongated shape, and extends for 677 km.
Its size makes it the sixth largest lake in the world; precisely it is the second largest African lake after Lake Victoria, and the deepest of all the continent. It is the longest freshwater lake in the world.
The lake was first visited by Europeans in 1858 by explorers Richard Burton and John Speke, who encountered it on an expedition to find the source of the Nile. Speke continued the expedition and then actually found the source, Lake Victoria. Until 1961, Lake Tanganyika divided the Belgian territories (Belgian Congo and Rwanda-Urundi) from the British territories (Tanganyika and Northern Rhodesia).

The lake is home to at least 300 species of fish from the Cichlid family and another 150 non-cichlid species. 98% of the cichlid species of Tanganyika are endemic to the lake. This high rate of endemism is also found in numerous species of invertebrates, especially molluscs, crabs, leeches, etc.

Rari Ciclidi e pesci gatto endemici del Lago Tanganica. La fishroom e il grande acquario del mio amico Paolo.
In questo video vedrete il grande acquario biotopo del lago Tanganica, la vasca è di tre metri e mezzo ed è arredata da grandi rocce naturali che creano gli ambienti rocciosi e di transizione del lago. La grande filtrazione dell'acquario è sotto la vasca con una sump e diverse pompe e filtri aggiuntivi.
L'acquario ospita diversi e rari Ciclidi del Lago Tanganica,pesci erbivori ,onnivori e pescivori. C'è anche un gruppo di pesci gatto Synodontys granulosus anche lui endemico del lago.

È il secondo lago più profondo del pianeta dopo il lago Bajkal, ed anche il secondo per volume, sempre dopo il lago Bajkal. Si trova al confine tra Tanzania, Repubblica Democratica del Congo, Burundi e Zambia. È situato all'interno di una delle grandi fosse della Rift Valley, ha una forma stretta e allungata, e si estende per 677 km.
Le sue dimensioni lo rendono il sesto lago più esteso al mondo; precisamente è il secondo lago africano per estensione dopo il lago Vittoria, e il più profondo in assoluto di tutto il continente. È il lago d'acqua dolce più lungo del mondo.

Questo alto tasso di endemismo lo si ritrova anche in numerose specie di invertebrati, specialmente molluschi, granchi, sanguisughe, etc.
