Jeff Johnsgaard is a recently retired police detective sergeant who spent over 20 years in various roles on both the uniform and investigations side of the department, including patrol sergeant, special teams member and as detective. Jeff spent a large portion of his career as a part-time trainer for his agency and their police academy. Jeff has designed and implemented multiple training programs throughout his career for everyone, from specialty units to regular members' yearly training.

Jeff is a Nationally Certified Instructor under IADLEST, a Certified Force Science® Advanced Specialist and is the Director of Research for the Reality Based Training Association.

Jeff proudly teaches several courses as a contract instructor for Force Science, Raptor Protection, and the Reality-Based Training Association.
Jeff has published over a dozen articles in Law Enforcement publications and has presented at IALEFI, ILEETA, Force Science, and PORAC.

Jeff also trains internationally with his company, Natural Tactical. He trains decision-making and use of force, specifically the unique 360° CQD method for vehicle anti-ambush and evidence-based principles for advanced instructor development.
