In the exact moment the sun burst forth, she was pulled into a trance. Even with the formidable power of an immortal ruler, her attempt to resist was paralyzed by overwhelming disorientation; for beneath the intrusion, the entity's true intent felt unnervingly peaceful and warm....

Celestia's body plummeted from the sky before the horrified crowd. Princess Luna lunged desperately to break her fall, only to watch her sister strike the earth right before her eyes.
Since that day, the sun that once graced Equestria has slowly begun to turn, burning the land below into a furnace.

*Note: In this AU, princess Luna was never banished to the moon.
