Our dogs got sick. Really sick.
Over a few weeks, we noticed weight loss, constant thirst, panting, anxiety, and strange behaviour. At first, we thought it was the heat or stress. But after vet visits and blood tests, we got an answer: both dogs had dangerously high thyroid levels, a rare condition in dogs called hyperthyroidism.
It turns out the raw food we were feeding them contained unregulated thyroid tissue, most likely from neck meat. This contaminated meat caused their hormone levels to skyrocket, putting their hearts, organs, and lives at risk.
We’re sharing our story because we’ve since received hundreds of messages from others around the world experiencing similar symptoms, and many had no idea it could be food-related.
We’re not anti-raw. We just want accountability, transparency, and regulation, so pet owners know what they’re feeding their animals is safe.
