We are exited to share an excerpt from previous N2O webinar, “Wastewater treatment plant maximisation in a context of new regulation and net zero”, featuring our guest speaker, Ioanna Gkoutzamani, Process Engineer at Evides Industriewater.
In this clip, Ioanna explained how Evides Industriewater combined modelling with temporary onsite monitoring to achieve both N2O mitigation and performance maximisation at one of their wastewater treatment plants. Three different root causes for N2O were identified and model outcomes were used to define the most promising onsite measures. By adjusting the carbon dosing, the expected impact is 87% reduction of N2O emissions, 10% external carbon saving and 10-15% reduction of effluent total nitrogen. The mitigation measures are currently being implemented onsite.
