Provo businesses feel strain as University Avenue bridge construction continues

Описание: A $70 million, two-year construction project on Provo’s University Avenue Bridge is causing major traffic delays, frustrating local business owners as lanes are reduced and access slows through the heart of the city.

The two-year-long project has been underway after starting three months ago, and it’s reduced a section of a major artery in Provo to one lane.

“A lot of the work is not actually being seen. So people will see a lot of barrels out there. They’re restricted to a single lane going across. We’re doing a lot of utility work,” said Wyatt Woolley, senior communications manager for UDOT Region Three. “It’s not visually seen, probably, by the public because they’re down low and off to the side and things like that, but it’s very important that we get that work done before we can really move on.”
