Prunotto Barbaresco Nebbiolo 2021 is a medium-to-full-bodied wine with firm structure and elegant tannins. It is made from 100% Nebbiolo, the classic grape of Barbaresco.
The wine is completely dry, with no residual sugar. However, its ripe red-fruit aromas can give a soft, almost sweet impression on the nose, even though the palate is dry and savory.
Flavor-wise, it shows red cherry, wild strawberry, rose petals, and dried herbs, layered with licorice, earthy notes, and subtle spice. The tannins are refined but present, giving the wine its characteristic grip.
The grapes come from Barbaresco in Piedmont, northern Italy, a region with rolling hills, limestone and clay soils, and a cool continental climate. Warm days help ripen the grapes, while cool nights preserve acidity and aromatics, creating balance and elegance.
The wine is aged in large oak barrels (typically Slavonian oak), which softens the tannins and allows the pure Nebbiolo character to shine without strong oak flavors.
