Excuse my incredibly rusty playing, but I wanted to put together a video comparing the mopane VT vs. the grenadilla with Delrin resin top joint variants of the Howarth S50C model oboe.
You often don’t hear the difference between the two woods. The intonation is all over the place because I’m getting my chops back after a 15-year hiatus from playing the instrument. But I hope this gives people a feel for how different the two woods sound.
