I had doubts that I would manage to clear the v5.8 Stygian Onslaught when I tried it on the first day but I had pretty much solved it by day 3! That being said, I do feel that the Papilla-style shield that pushes nightsoul this hard is unhealthy for the game. I don't want to be lunar-gated in the future so let's push back against this mechanic! ;.;

For the Tenebrous Papilla: Shadow Void Transfiguration, I went with an overload team. C6R5 Mavuika, C0R1 Iansan, C6R1 Fischl, and C6 Chevreuse being my pick. Frankly, I don't think I would've been able to clear this without Mavuika. I've seen some C3R1 Arle and Hutao clears off the back of Pyro Traveler but I don't think my Arle can quite match up to those - non-signature artifact and weapon life is rough. My signature-less Varesa is also far too weak to clear it since Iansan dodged me super hard and I only have C0 of them. Anyways, as I say in the VoD, I can clear faster if I add Ororon instead of Fischl but I just dislike Ororon in general and am excluding them on purpose.

My pick for the fight with the Battle-Hardened Tent Tortoise: Thunderous Aegis was Arle. Specifically, C1R1 Arlecchino, C6R1 Citlali, C2 Charlotte, and C6 Bennett. This is because even though I have Skirk, I don't have an Escoffier, so Skirk is unsalvageable garbage on my account. With my roster, Arle kind of was my only choice here. I calc'd Gaming and decided he wouldn't be able to do it even if I gave him Mavuika's R5 weapon.

The stage with the Battle-Hardened Pipilpan Idol: Hundred Deceptions was kind of free with Ineffa. It was bugged for a few days where at times the bonus damage from breaking it's shield didn't trigger. I think I beat it before it was fixed, lol. But yeah, it was reasonably easy to clear with Raiden driving Ineffa. My someone low-con picks being C2R1 Raiden, C0R1 Ineffa, C0 Furina, C2R1 Xilonen. I'm not sure if Xilonen's C2 burst cooldown for electro units had any impact but it felt pretty comfy. I've seen people have a much easier time with the more modern Clorinde and Varesa but my Varesa is underbaked to the extreme and I don't have Clorinde (or Neuvi, for that matter).

Anyways, this event is trash ngl. I hope Hoyo can find some motivation to make it less restrictive because restrictions feel bad. They should just give us a choice of huge buffs instead.
