Описание: I'm offering something to the world I've never seen anywhere else: an experience of pride in ourselves as midlife Xers -- a badass sense of our generation's achievements, confidence in our ethos and approach to life, and a place to stand as we're power-facing the future.

In this 17-minute video, I attempt to express in images and music what I think and feel about the major achievements and positive legacy of my generation -- Gen X, those of us born in the 1960s and 1970s -- and whether you're an Xer or not I hope to immerse you in the best possible experience of us.

I've been studying my generation for four decades. Some of what is in this video I could have told you forty years ago, in my late teens. Some of what's here I've learned in the past dozen days, as I brought this video to fruition.

Since 1990, I've been heavily influenced by the generational paradigm of the world's leading experts on generations, Neil Howe and the late William Strauss. So for 35 years now I've assumed that we Xers were born from 1961 to around 1979 -- and that people born from 1961 to 1964 are the leading edge of Gen X.

If you were born between 1961 and 1964, there's a 50-50 chance you think of yourself as a Boomer. You reside on a long cusp and you've always been free to think of yourself as a Boomer or an Xer. I hope my video brings you over to our camp.

If you were born in 1960, yes, I'm the only person in the world who thinks you're an Xer, not a Boomer. But I've looked very closely at people born in 1960, and I think you're more Xer than Boomer.

I dedicate this video to the Gen X Mayor of Albuquerque, Tim Keller -- and to all the aspirations and hopes we are investing in you, Mayor Keller, as you begin your third term.
