Описание: Seven years ago, I walked into a dusty warehouse in Los Angeles to cook for Gordon Ramsay. I did not know it then, but it was a day that would change the course of my whole life. I was on the verge of homelessness, desperate for an opportunity, any opportunity, to keep my 2-year-old son and I off the streets.

I don't know if Gordon knew my circumstances. I had a limited understanding of who he was: a famous chef that liked to yell. I had never seen the show. I had no idea it played in 192 countries. All I knew is that getting into the MasterChef kitchen was the only way to keep my son and me out of a shelter. The only way in was to get one of just eighteen aprons. I had a slim chance considering my lack of experience and the skill level of the ninety-nine other hopefuls in that dirty warehouse.

All these years later, I still can't watch this video of him handing me that apron without getting choked up. He saved my son and I. The cookbook, commercials, TV Shows, the press, co-founding Everything Food... none of that would have happened without Gordon.

PS This month Gordon signed me to Studio Ramsay. Seven years later, and he is handing me yet another chance to take my son and me to the next level.

Congratulations to the home cooks who will score one of the coveted aprons tonight on MasterChef at 8/7 central. I will be watching with bated breath, cheering you on from the sidelines.
