This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. About how films can take us anywhere in space and time but still have a hard time breaking stereotypes.
Baker Karim has been described as one of the people with most influence over the future of Swedish feature film production. Through his role as feature film commissioner at the Swedish Film Institute he wants to give Swedish feature films a new period of greatness and sees it as his task to find new voices within Swedish film. Baker Karim has a background as a director, editor, screen writer and camera man. With his short film “Malcolm” from 2002 he competed in Cannes Film Festival and was nominated for the price “Best Swedish short film” at Guldbaggegalan.
