After winning Gladiators - the UK’s biggest fitness show - Amanda realised the real victory wasn’t the title, but changing how the next generation experiences movement. In this TEDx talk, she challenges the win-at-all-costs culture of sport and reveals how it quietly pushes too many children away from fitness. Her mission is to reimagine Physical Education so that confidence, health and belonging come before performance. Amanda wants every child to fall in love with movement and aims to prove that you don’t have to be sporty to do this. Fitness should not be about judgement, but instead be about creating a space where everybody can enjoy it and belong.
#Education #Fitness #Health #Movement #LGBT #Children Amanda is the BBC Gladiators 2025 Winner and Owner of Momentum Collective Gym in Warrington. She is a coach and strength athlete who has a deep passion for representation in fitness, especially for those left behind by traditional sport.
Life for Amanda is all about family, community, and movement. She runs Momentum with her partner Natalie and loves being a bonus mum to Sullivan and Ida. Losing her mum to early-onset dementia in 2023 sparked her determination to live life to the max. Whether she’s coaching in the gym or speaking in schools, her mission is to show that fitness is for everyone. Amanda believes true strength isn’t about appearance, but instead about heart, resilience, and the courage to keep moving forward – proof that we’re all stronger than we think. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
