Join me on the Twyn Brynbychan Summit Adventure, starting out from Abercynon and climbing through some of the valley’s most striking landmarks.
We pass through The GAP, carved from Pennant Sandstone by quarrymen, its stone once used to build bridges and viaducts across South Wales. Further along lies the Giant’s Bite, a dramatic scar where more rock was taken to shape the railways and miners’ homes.
Today, these scars stand as part of the landscape, reclaimed by nature, rich with history, and full of legend. At the summit, the views stretch across the Cynon and Taff valleys, with the Brecon Beacons on the horizon.
This hike blends industry, heritage, and adventure, a journey through the past and into the heart of the Welsh hills.
