When my 16-year-old son was undergoing ongoing medical treatment, every dollar mattered. I was covering his treatment costs while my husband handled household expenses. Everything seemed fair—until I discovered he secretly withdrew money from our shared account, money meant for my son’s treatment, to buy his 18-year-old son an expensive Christmas motorbike.
When I confronted him, things escalated fast. He accused me of being ungrateful, claimed he had “sacrificed enough,” and then twisted the story to his son, turning my stepson against me. Now my husband is staying elsewhere, my stepson won’t speak to me, and I’m left questioning whether my reaction crossed a line.
