Описание: A devastating fire outbreak has destroyed seven metal container shops along Spintex Road in Accra, near Marina Mall, in the early hours of Saturday, February 7, 2026.

According to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), the fire started around midnight and quickly spread, engulfing container shops selling furniture, tailoring materials, and groceries. Firefighters from Tema Motorway, Tema Metro, and Tema Industrial Area stations were deployed after the nearest station reported a faulty fire engine.

The first fire crew arrived at 12:19 AM, found the blaze at an advanced stage, and worked for several hours to contain it. The fire was brought under control by 1:56 AM and fully extinguished by 4:32 AM. Thankfully, no injuries or fatalities were recorded.

GNFS confirmed that their efforts prevented the fire from spreading to Marina Mall, nearby shops, residential buildings, and a car garage with over 35 vehicles. Despite this, all seven container shops and their contents were completely destroyed, leaving several business owners devastated.

Eyewitness videos captured intense flames, thick smoke, and emotional reactions from affected shop owners as traffic on the busy Spintex Road was temporarily disrupted. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
