BMRCL Announces Annual Fare Revision With Automatic Formula; Metro Fare Hike Capped At 5 Percent

Описание: The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited announced an annual fare revision based on recommendations of the First Fare Fixation Committee under the Metro Railways Act. The committee noted fares were revised after seven-and-a-half years and fare zone optimisation from 29 to 10 led to an average 51.55% increase. To avoid steep hikes, it recommended a transparent automatic annual fare revision capped at 5% or actual cost rise, whichever is lower. Though costs showed a 10.2% rise, the annual hike will be limited to 5%.
