In this video, I show all the details of the process of processing the flash at the end of a giant boiler with a length of 1200 mm and a diameter of 1330 mm on the lathe.
Vibration is the biggest problem when processing a boiler at this scale.
To reduce the vibration and stabilize the shear, I applied damping by wrapping tires around the outer diameter of the boiler.
Thanks to this method:
✔ More stable cutting
✔ Better surface quality
✔ A safer lathe operation has been achieved
Such large diameter and length boiler lathe operations require both a strong machine and serious operator experience.
