Documentary: "Sheree, The Shoutcaster" (Female Gamer, EA Game Changer, South Africa)

Описание: When we were at the 24 Live stream for Creators United, we were introduced to Sheree. She is a Shoutcaster. My inside head voice immediately went: ‘Shoutwhat?’, and I had to Google her job title - she is an online game commentator. I really didn’t know that the world of online gaming was so developed and so supported that games are not just watched by people who are not the ones playing them but there are people who make a living from commentating during them. If I had known what a Shoutcaster was, I think I probably would have envisioned the person performing this role as being male…not for any other reason than stereotypes and misconceptions I have (Documinute is my ongoing personal education platform, and I am so grateful for it). When I did figure out what Sheree does and the fact that she is on an all girl gaming team, I knew immediately that I wanted to chat with her about women in the industry. Something we didn’t go into major detail about in the Documinute that I want to share with you is that Sheree is South Africa’s EA Game Changer…that means she is a representative for EA Games (video game company) internationally and she is the only one in South Africa…male or female (Insert ‘Mic Drop’ here).
