Retrofitting older Omega Seamaster bracelets with the current (2018 and newer) Seamaster's adjustable clasp has been a popular 'mod' or upgrade for some time.
So much so that, in fact, prices for these clasps have tripled.
While the adjustable clasp solves the lack of fine adjustment which characterized the older bracelets, I have found that the newer clasp is simply too massive to wear with the older "speedy style" bracelet. The speedy style has a much lighter construction than the newer bracelets for which the adjustable clasp was originally intended.
In this video, I try to replace the adjustable clasp with the smaller, non-adjustable clasp that is normally found on the pre-2018 "smpc" Seamaster to see how that clasp works with the older bracelet. In my opinion, it matches up well as it is much thinner and lighter than the adjustable clasp.
