In a major reshuffle of India’s central contracts, the BCCI has removed the A+ category for the 2025-26 season. Former India captains Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have been moved to Group B, reflecting their limited appearances across formats. Test captain Shubman Gill, Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja feature in the A category. The central contracts cover 30 senior men cricketers for the period from October 1, 2025 to September 30, 2026. Despite the downgrade, experts believe the move will not impact Kohli and Rohit’s stature or endorsement value.
