A well-loved human being, and a close friend of Jim and Marie Fanning, Andres was a gentle giant who overcame great adversity in his career. He was a class person and a tremendous contributor to the Expos and their history in multiple stints.
He was also an instrumental part of the Colorado Rockies, joining Expos personnel Bob Gebhard, Pat Daugherty, John McHale Jr., and Jim Fanning to give the new franchise an early boost. He and Larry Walker were prominent teammates in both Expos and Rockies uniforms.
