So here's what I found during my BioMax 900 vs MitoPRO 1500 review, where I'll be comparing both across all sorts of metrics such as value, power output (irradiance), EMF, wavelengths and more:

✅ The BioMax 600, first-generation, won my 2019 body panel series and the MitoPRO 1500 won in my 2021 & 2022 series. The BioMax 900 wasn't included in my 2021 & 2022 comparison version and I opted for the 600 because of the higher peak power output. The 600 has 200 LEDs and the 900 has 300 LEDs. Both companies have a long history in red light therapy and are the dominant players next to Joovv - I don't recommend the Joovv Solo 3.0

So here are my findings for each round of this review:

✅ Round 1: price - both panels come in at the same price, $1,149 USD. With discount code ALEX you save 5%. BioMax 900 shipping is about $60-120 USD lower though
✅ Round 2: Design - both panels have 300 LEDs but have different sizes and shapes. For me, the BioMax 900 shape is better because you can stack 2 panels on top of each other and get great coverage across the body. Two MitoPRO 1500 panels are too tall for optimal coverage
✅ Round 3: Power & Performance - the peak power is better on the MitoPRO 1500 and total power output is better on the BioMax 900. The former has 88.2 mW/cm2 and the latter 82.7 mW/cm2. Total wattage output is 136W for the MitoPRO and 147 for the BioMax though, so the latter is better here.
✅ Round 4: Wavelengths - both panels use multi-wave technology. The BioMax 900 puts out 80% of light in the 660 nanometers (nm) and 850 nm range and 20% at 630 nm, 810 nm, and 830 nm. The MitoPRO 1500 puts out 25% across the 630, 660, 830, and 850nm wavelengths.
✅ Round 5: Hotspots - here the MitoPRO 1500 wins out as the BioMax 900 has hotspot issues with uneven light distribution. Standing farther away solves the BioMax 900 problem though
✅ Round 6: Value - the BioMax 900 wins out slightly with a lower $USD per Watt.
✅ Round 7: Safety - EMF, flicker, sound levels. Flicker is absent for both panels. For sound, the BioMax has 49 dB and MitoPRO emits 52. EMF levels are slightly better for the MitoPRO 1500 at 3-inches for the magnetic fields
✅ Round 8: Stands - both companies sell vertical and horizontal stands. PlatinumLED sells a wall-mounting bracket though and both have roughly the same price
✅ Round 9: Operations - here the BioMax wins out due to the touchscreen and customizability of wavelength power, wireless function, among others
✅ Round 10: Support - including warranty, returns, etce Both companies offer 60-day return policy and 3-year warranty. Only PlatinumLED has a restocking fee with damage. Warranty conditions differ though
✅ Round 11: Certification - here the BioMax 900 wins because it has more quality certificates to its name such as FDA class-2 medical device
✅ Both panels are great but have minor differences and the best choice depends on circumstance
✅ Final conclusion? The BioMax 900 is a slightly better option
