Hollywood Beat was an American crime drama series that aired in 1985. The show starred Jack Scalia and Jay Acovone as homicide detectives in Los Angeles.
In episode 7, "the Long Weekend," detectives Nick McCarren and Jack Rado are tasked with protecting Harvey, a witness whose testimony is sure to put a crime lord in prison. The heroes have their hands full fighting off a slew of assassins and corrupt officials – and Harvey's overly protective mother. The episode is a fun mix of action, comedy, and a little bit of romance.
The show was unfortunately canceled after one season but remains something of a cult favorite (at least for me), despite episodes being hard to come by.
Alas, I've found an old recording with a couple of episodes. I've used Adobe After Effects to upscale the quality to high resolution, but it's still based on a VHS recording so expect to see and hear some distortion (and Finnish subtitles). Here, I trimmed down the beginning of the first scene because the quality was so poor, but it's only the first 15–20 seconds.
