According to Breaking Defense, General Atomics spokesman C Mark Brinkley compared Anduril, a 7-year-old startup, with failed pharma tech company Theranos. He sharply questioned how Anduril's Fury drone could carry weapons and host its landing gear.

Anduril's chief strategy officer, Chris Brose, declined to criticize the 69-year-old defense giant, but founder Palmer Luckey couldn't help himself.
He posted a picture of his head crudely photoshopped onto Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes' body on the X social media platform.

Other contractors, like Lockheed Martin and Boeing, are expected to join future phases of the Air Force program.
