Daniel and I are frequent visitors of the forest and like to observe how it changes throughout the year. Autumn is the best for trail runs because the temperatures are perfect and the days are still quite long.
This is a collection of videos I have made throughout autumn to preserve some beautiful memories and to document our life in Salzburg. The slightly uglier truth, which contrasts with the many sunny scenes in this video, is that Salzburg is really rainy. Sometimes we get two weeks straight without a sunny day. I like to tell people that if you tend to cancel your plans because of rain, you would have nothing to do here. The coat I regularly wear in autumn is practically a raincoat. But we still love to live there - with the incredible Alps, the rivers and the historical old town.
This video was challenging to film and even more challenging to cut… challenging in a good way. I have experienced several setbacks with this project including sickness, logistics, downtimes due to travelling and malfunction of hardware but am happy I managed to finish it now and can start paying my tributes to winter. It took me a while to get it done because work, sports and knitting have been steady obstacles on the way. One only has a limited amount of time to spend every day. It does not really fit to release an autumn video during Christmas time, but I like to think that creativity and deadlines shouldn’t mix and that autumn is so beautiful its´ atmosphere can be enjoyed any time of year.
