Let's look at a couple different ways to finish our projects with binding!
Method 1: Glue basting for Binding
Using glue to set your binding makes it so much easier to bind a quilt when you've got more than one to do and you don't want to fight with the quilt. Just put a bead line of glue on your binding ( I used Elmer's School Glue), set it with your iron, then sew it down at your leisure.
Just remember, that glue is NOT permanent, it will eventually be washed away.
Method 2: The Quick and Dirty
With this method, you make a pocket at the beginning of your binding and when you get all the way back around attaching it, you trim the binding tail and fit it inside the pocket. Then stitch it down, flip and secure to the other side with your chosen finishing method.
This method is best for very small projects, such as the Mug Rugs shown in this video. Mostly because there really isn't much wiggle room between the beginning and ending points.
