Описание: Berlin has more bridges than Venice. In fact, the Spreestadt has almost 1000 bridge structures from the most diverse stylistic epochs. The elaborately designed Oberbaum Bridge is one of the most beautiful and imposing bridges in the capital. Since 1896 it has connected the districts of Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg across the river Spree. On the bridge was once the upper tree, where customs duties were collected. Not only road traffic, but also Berlin's oldest underground line (U1 and U3) runs through it. The supporting structure for the tracks on the mezzanine floor was architecturally clad and decorated with medieval-looking jewelry. Otto Stahn thus created a building that resembles a castle of the Margraviate of Brandenburg. Since November 9th 1994 the restored bridge has been an important connection for car and metro traffic. From 1961 to 1989 it was a "border crossing point" and could only be used by pedestrians.
