IRCT Sensitization in Yola

Recently, the LGCF team conducted a sensitization program in Yola, Adamawa state, focusing on psychosocial support and rehabilitation for inmates, torture victims, and vulnerable people.
On the first day, we visited GDSS Malkohi within an IDP camp in Adamawa state. There, we educated students who were mostly residents of the camp, about torture and reporting mechanisms.
The following day, we engaged inmates at the Nigerian Correctional Center, Yola New, discussing the implications of torture and best practices. Through focus group discussions, we gained valuable insights that will inform our efforts moving forward.
Both the correctional facility’s leadership in Yola New and the school authorities at GDSS expressed satisfaction with the program and committed to ongoing support.
