Part one of the Hadrians wall path series. Starting from Segedunum fort in Wallsend Newcastle, we set off in the afternoon sun, which after the weeks dire forecast, I certainly wasn't expecting.
Love or hate Newcastle, it's not the best for hiking unfortunately, early sections comprising of industrial areas and housing estate.
To walk the wall though these sections you must endure, and towards the end we do hit green rolling hills lined with trees, before eventually hitting our first campsite.
I hope you enjoy this first part of our journey.
