On the display front, the Xiaomi MI 8 comes with the 6.21-inch super AMOLED display. With the super AMOLED panel, the content on the screen has great color accuracy with deeper blacks and brighter whites. The Xiaomi MI 8 display features Full HD+ resolution (1080 x 2248 pixels) packing a 402 pixels in every inch. The display on the handset also comes with high dynamic range as it is HDR 10 enabled. The screen is also shielded with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the top to avoid any cracks and scratches during the fall.

In terms of hardware, the device is furnished with the powerful Snapdragon 845 chipset backed by 6GB of RAM. In terms of storage, the smartphone comes with three variants: 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB. However, the phone has not SD card slot to expand the storage in case of insufficiency. With this chipset and RAM setup, the Xiaomi MI 8 performance is stellar. Xiaomi MI 8 benchmark is not disappointing either. The smartphone rocks in the benchmark department as well. We also performed the Xiaomi MI 8 gaming review. We ran multiple high end games and played the games vigorously. And in the entire gaming session, the smartphone did not lag or stutter. We also tried Multitasking between numerous apps and switching between them. On doing so, the smartphone ran with an absolute fluidity without any hiccups.

On the camera front, the MI 8 comes with a dual camera setup at the back comprising of a 12MP primary shooter backed by another 12MP telephoto camera. With this camera setup, MI 8 takes some amazing pictures. And the results of the Xiaomi MI 8 camera review included in the video says it all. During the Xiaomi MI 8 camera test session, we also decided to perform the Xiaomi MI zoom test and the images captured during the session were absolutely remarkable. For the Xiaomi MI 8 front camera, Xiaomi included a 20MP sensor up front. The selfie shooter on the phone does an excellent job. It produces some social media ready selfies without breaking into sweat.

Unlike most of the smartphone available in the market, Xiaomi MI 8 does not use front camera to register and read the face for face unlock feature. The phone has dedicated sensors for 3D facial scanning and it does the job genuinely. The Xiaomi MI 8 face unlock gives the impression of the similar feature in the iPhone X. The registering the face and unlocking the device using the Xiaomi MI 8 face ID is really fast and accurate.

Moving on to the more of the Xiaomi MI 8 features, the smartphone welcomes with the Android Oreo (v8.1) since the first book. Xiaomi has also added its custom skin MIUI 9.5 on the top. MI 8 is also one the devices promised with MIUI 10 update. So Xiaomi MI 8 MIUI 10 can be seen when the new user interface is finally released. Other Xiaomi MI 8 specs include USB Type C port for charging and the absence of the 3.5mm headphone jack. In terms of battery, the device is enriched with a 3400mAh non-removable battery. The device provides a decent battery backup. On our Xiaomi MI 8 battery test, the handset untiring backed up for 1 whole day on the normal usage and provided us a screen on time of 6 hours.
