In this episode, I share a personal story from an important chapter of my academic journey, the six months I spent as a visiting scholar at New York University.
During that time, I had the opportunity to work in the heart of Manhattan, right next to Washington Square Park. Those months were filled with research, inspiring academic conversations, and unforgettable experiences both inside and outside the university.
In this episode, I talk about collaborating with colleagues in the Teaching and Learning department, presenting my doctoral research on the illustrated children’s books of Jacqueline Woodson, and how the feedback I received helped me shape the structure of my dissertation.
It was also a time of personal exploration, discovering different yoga practices, meeting new people, and experiencing the unique energy of New York.
Looking back, those six months deeply influenced the way I approach research and academic life.
Thank you for listening.
