More oil tankers shun southern Red Sea after US led strikes in Yemen

Due to growing disturbances on the crucial route for energy shipping in the southern Red Sea, a minimum of six additional oil tankers were avoiding the area on Monday. The heightened disruptions followed U.S.-led strikes targeting Houthi sites in Yemen.
In response to these strikes, the Combined Maritime Forces (CMF), led by the U.S. and based in Bahrain, issued a warning on Friday through the tanker organization INTERTANKO. The advisory urged all ships to steer clear of the Bab al-Mandab Strait, located at the southern end of the Red Sea, for several days.
