50 year since the closure of the Somerset and Dorset Joint Railway.
ON the 12th March 2016 during the Gala week I went and got some clips of the engines that once ran on the S&D.
Thank you to the West Somerset Railway for this legendary Gala.
Film includes the two S&DJR 7fs 2-8-0s which were built specifically for the line .
and 7f 2-8-0s 53808 and 53809 also with L S 0-6-0 44422.
LMS 8F 48624 and Standard tankengine passing lower Vexford 80078 was renumbered as 80043.
Rebuilt west country /Battle of Britain pacific 34053 Sir Keith Park renumbered as 34098 Templecombe,
Unrebuilt West Country Battle of Britain 34070 Manston and also a stunning shot of a heavy goodslocomotive 9F 2-10-0 92214
