Working on carving the top and back plates from chapter three. I made a thickness gauge out of walnut, dowels, and guitar strings.
Since we are doing some sculpting on the guitar top I talked about a book I read on Michaelangelo. The Agony and the Ecstasy: A Biographical Novel of Michelangelo by Irving Stone. Written in the style of a novel it's a compelling account of his life and work. Here's a link to the book:

Sculpting and carving the guitar top is relaxing and therapeutic for me. Keep chiseling away to reveal the magic that lives inside of the wood.
