Most vintage sewing machines could only make straight or zig zag stitches. One way around this problem was to use a special attachment. In this video we take a look at a buttonholer or button hole attachment, made specifically for Husqvarna Viking machines by Greist. This could be used on almost any low shank zig zag capable machines. There were also buttonholers made for straight stitch only machines.
